Getting into and out of trouble

Saturday 4 February, 2:45 – 4:15 PM

This workshop is designed to give Tango dancers some confidence in leading and following Tango when the dance floor is getting busy and there is less space. It will not push the bounds for those who are confident dancers at Canning or El Beso on a Friday night - so if you are one of those it would be great if you could come along to make life easier for the others. The workshops will look at a few aspects of floor craft, leading and following at close quarters, tight turns, making space, safety, inspiration, changing your mind, awareness of surroundings for leaders, and how trust goes both ways. $20. The following beginners class and the Práctica are free for course participants.

Practice Session:

Saturdays 4:30-7:00 PM, $8 unless you have done one of the courses that day. This is a relaxed space to try out new things; a chance to reinforce what you have learnt; an essential stepping-stone between learning new things and using them instinctively in a dance. Seek

Sunday 19th Feb! (not 5th FEB!)

Bring your friends for a fun and free intro to Tango, even non dancing friends can come and watch the dancing in a bar /restaurant setting.
 
Lesson 6-7pm beginners introduction to tango
Social tango dancing with a DJ 7-9pm
No bookings or partner needed! All welcome (best of all lesson and social dance is FREE!)

I'm going to the BsAs in The Vales tango festival near Adelaide in April, and I wonder if  we can get a few other people from NZ to go.  Registration just opened, so all the classes etc should still be available.  Interestingly, there's a (very small) discount for leaders

A huge thanks to everyone who made the trip up AND down to Otaki for the first Milonga de las Tartas (there are a few photos up on our website from it - http://tangoabrazo.co.nz/photo-gallery/ - but Richard spent far too much time dancing to remember to take more photos!). We all appreciate it so much; a big thanks as well to all those who supported the milonga, even if they couldn't make it on the day.

 We had such a good time, we thought we'd do it again! We hope you'll join us for another afternoon of food and tango.
