I actually think this is the best venue I’ve used for a tango gig (or salsa gig)
The floor is a to die for smooth wooden floor…..it’s quite big….lovely balcony and large glass doors down one side, so if it is a sunny day it’ll be lovely. Lovely red décor in the room.
The food there is actually great ( they have a very good Chef), so come along for lunch/tapas andtango awaythe afternoon……from 1pm – 6pm, so 5 hour’s of dancing for only $10.
We’ve got DJ Pachanga ( Tango Red founder on the music) and Tango café will play at least two sets…….possibly a special Tango Neo/Tango Nuevo slot for the last hour……
I think if we can get a good turn out and prove to the bar that there is a Tango audience here in Wellingtonthere could be more events there…….

First of all I would like to thank you for your support of my Saturday milongas. The atmosphere has been great and I have you to thank for that. Also a big thank you to my pixies who are there without fail to help me with set up and all of you who stay behind to tidy up at the end. I really appreciate it.

I would really like to see if we can not create a Wellington Tango Community in which everybody feels comfortable and has a good time. We need to put our energy into the positive..... With this in mind I invite everybody to the new Sunday milonga. However, I request that all who attend do their bit to contribute to a good atmosphere by being respectful of our differences.

6pm Meet, Mix and Mingle to the music of Wellingtons own DJ Mooch
6.30pm - 7.30pm Violinist Elena and Simply Fantastic play a mixture of Tango and her own Lyrical pieces which are beautiful to dance to. Elena was actually asked to play for the Marlborough Wine Festival this weekend however chose our event instead so we are indeed fortunate.
7.30pm Performances 3 x Tango Couples including our guest Cecilia Trini partnered by Matthew Civil and 1x Salsa performance
8pm DJ Mooch plays his special mix of Tango and Nuevo with a tanda or two of Salsa
10pm - 1.00am DJ Anne-Maree returns to Wellington to wow us once again with her playlist of Tango to keep you on your feet until Valentines Day.
Don't forget your masks (we look forward to trying to work out whose behind them) and table reservations by rsvp asap. Tables will only be held till 6.30pm
