This Saturday 31 July Moving from the ground: Why bother? How? and what to do with it?

This is the last of my Saturday classes at Webb Street (Matthew is coming back and will take up teaching his classes again!)

Workshop 2:30-4:00

Beginners class 4:00-5:00 pm.

Classes in August:

I've have received LOTS of feedback that I need to slow down in class and now that I have more time with you, I will. I will continue to teach technique THEMES rather than structures, but I'll spread each theme across a few weeks, so we'll have plenty of time to practice! In August, we'll spend two more weeks on led adornos, but from other movements since we already did adornos from forward ocho. And we'll continue with the crusada theme for the second part of august, learning the side step cross and enganche from several positions, with alternative exits.

The Crosses and Various Escapes...

We'll quickly review leading and following technique for the cross (crusada), ocho cortado, cross from side step, and enganche. We'll study the lead for the change of weight or the no change (some people call it a "fake" when the follower doesn't change weight in a cross.)

There are many interesting escapes once you open the possibility that the follower doesn't change weight automatically after a cross.

In the beginners class 4-5 pm, we'll do an in-depth review of lead and follow for clear, smooth, and connected crosses from parallel (2 track) and cross system (3 track) and ocho cortado in open and close embrace.

$20 for the workshop at 2:30. beginner's class free for those who do the workshop.

Beginner's class only $10.
22 Webb Street

This coming Monday 26th at Queer Tango we'll do deep technique for elastic, powerful rebotes. Practica at 7pm, class at 8 pm at Crossways, 6 Roxburgh Street. $10 for the evening.

Coming up Saturday 31 July: 2:30 pm Special workshop: Why Bother Connecting to the Ground, How, and What to do with it once you've got it. Webb Street. 4pm: Beginners class: The tango payoff. 22 Webb Street.
